LAKHIMPUR: Manavata Nathakile Joy Hoy Danavar, an anthology of poems by prominent poet Pronita Borah Saikia was released in Lakhimpur on Sunday. The book was released in the open session of the concluding event of the year long silver jubilee celebration of Chilarai Yuva Sangha, Da-Gati village of the district.

The event was organized at the Da-Gati LP School premises with q two-day long agenda. The open session commenced with Tileswar Borah, retired Principal of Garehaga-Bahpati HS School, in the chair under the management of celebration committee president Dina Borah. Gitacharya-cum-spiritual personality Purandar Baruah graced the occasion as appointed speaker. He delivered his lecture on a topic 'The contribution of youths to the society at present'. The Gitacharya threw light on the role of youths towards building the society and the nation and to check the deterioration of human values and social chaos. In the same event, the Gitacharya released the anthology, in which a total of hundred poems composed by Pronita Borah Saikia have been incorporated. The poems were at first published in the Asomiya Kabita Charcha group of Facebook, administrated by literary activist Aminur Rahman of Nagaon. The book has been published by Aminur Rahman on behalf of Ananda Prakash of Nagaon. Chemistry Professor of LTK College Dr. Debojit Dutta, Telahi Kamalaboria Anchalik Sakha Xahitya Xabha president Logit Chandra Khaond, journalist-cum-writer, poet Ranjit Kakati delivered lectures in the event as guests of honour.

Chilarai Yuva Sangha also organized the due biennial session of the institution and 7th celebration of Rongali Bihu simultaneously with the concluding event of the silver jubilee celebration. The agenda of Rongali Bihu celebration began with a plantation drive on Saturday which was inaugurated by retired teacher Khagendranath Dutta. It was followed by the unfurling of three flags by Rongali Bihu celebration committee president Dina Borah, Chilarai Yuva Sangha president Ranjit Borah and silver jubilee celebration committee president Leela Dutta. After the swahid tarpan programme, a series of competitions on traditional games, go as you like, drawing was held among students. It was followed by Saru Bihuwoti and Bor Bihuwoti competition. On Saturday, a colourful cultural rally was taken out and Mou-Kunwori competition was held.
