Mangaldai SBI declared containment zone after employee tested COVID-19 positive

MANGALDAI: After an employee tested COVID-19 positive, the Darrang district administration declared the Mangaldai branch of SBI as containment zone with immediate effect for five days.

According to Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah, the decision has been taken following the detection of one of its employees, Kishori Lal Basfor as COVID-19 positive. Meanwhile, the district administration sealed the entire complex of SBI on LNB Road here and sanitized it. The medical team has also been deputed to collect the swab samples from all the employees for the second time.

Though the declaration of the SBI branch in the heart of the district headquarters town as containment zone has created widespread sensation here, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to people not to panic and to strictly obey the rules and guidelines issued by the government. As Saturday and Sunday will be the weekly lockdown period, the bank will remain closed for three days only. The extension of the containment zone period will depend on detection of more employees as COVID-19 positive.
