Mangaldai Town to be Decorated with Krishna Chura Trees

MANGALDAI: With the unique initiative to decorate Mangaldai town with the Krishna Chura(Delonix regia) trees, Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das on Thursday took part in the plantation drive on the entire stretch of Laxmi Nath Bezbarua Road.

To ensure the safety and proper growth of the plants, he also made proper arrangements for permanent fencing. Prominent citizens, women and youth activists, students and office bearers of BJP took part in the plantation drive with tremendous zeal and enthusiasm despite the downpour on Friday morning.

“Mangaldai town has the glorious heritage of Darrangi Rajya and Princess Mangala Devi and I have a dream to decorate the entire Mangaldai town with the Krishna Chura trees to give it a beautiful look. With the hearty cooperation from all sections of the society, including the business community, I have taken up this dream project under MLA LAD fund. In a phased manner; the entire town will be decorated with these trees,” said legislator Guru Jyoti Das while talking to The Sentinel.
