Guwahati: A husband has filed a case with police against four persons alleging that the persons have kidnapped his wife after the lady eloped with her boyfriend in Dhubri district of Assam.

The husband identified as Manteshwar Roy (38) of Powerchara village under Agomani police station in Dhubri district has lodged an FIR at Agomoni police station.

He alleged in his FIR that his wife Monika Bala Roy (24) ran away along with their two-year-old son and took away Rs 35, 000 cash and other valuables.

The husband however, suspecting that four persons has kidnapped his wife.

In the FIR he has accused Sujit alias Laddu, Hemanta Roy, Ved Roy and Mantosh Roy for allegedly kidnapping his wife.

Meanwhile, the husband has urged his wife to come back home at the earliest.

Police have lodged the case and further investigation is underway.

As per reports the girl recently eloped with her beau following which her family filed a kidnapping case against the boy.

Based on the complaint, the police reached the home of the boy to arrest the accused and rescue the abductee.

But when the police reached, they faced an unexpected situation. The new bride candidly said that he eloped with the boy as per her wish. She claimed that they developed the relationship around eight years ago.

He also clarified that she would not return home under any circumstances. Due to her stance, the police returned to their place without taking any action as per the complaint. On the other hand, the boy, who said his name is Majnur, claimed that the girl and he were classmates in high school. "We fell in each other's love in 2013. We know each other very well. She knows that I am a Muslim," he added, claiming that his wife's family filed a false case against him. " She came with from in front of the District court. I did not kidnap her. She is an educated girl. She is a graduate." he further said.
