Massive protest rally against CAA in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Contrary to Government’s claim that the anti-CAA agitation has lost its pace following AASU’s mulling to flout an alternative political party, the conglomerate organizations of ethnic bodies including Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity staged a massive protest rally at Borguri Tinsukia and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia on Friday.

The protesters mostly women assembled at ITI Field Borguri were addressed by frontline leaders of All Moran Students’ Union, All Tai-Ahom Students’ Union, AJYCP and KMSS. The speakers while condemning Government’s move to suppress democratic agitation, demanded to scrap of controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act and granting of ST status to 6 indigenous communities. Their agitation will continue till fulfillment of the demands, they reiterated.
