Media Certification & Monitoring Committee formed ahead of Assembly Elections in Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI: For smooth conduct of upcoming Assembly election, a Media Certification and Monitoring Committee has been constituted with immediate effect. An order was issued to this effect here on Tuesday by Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer, Megh Nidhi Dahal.
The six-member committee is headed by Deputy Commissioner Dahal as Chairman with District Information and Public Relations Officer, Sabir Nishat, as Member Secretary. The other members of the committee are Additional Deputy Commissioner, RK Dam, President, Barak Upatyaka Bango Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan, Nitish Bhattacharjee, District Media Expert, NRHM, Monika Das and DAM, NRHM, Biswajit Dasgupta.
The committee will preview, scrutinise and certify advertisements to be telecast over TV channels and cable network, radio including FM channels, bulk SMS/voice message on phone during the entire election campaigning period and keep a tab on paid news in any forms of media by any registered political party or by any group, organisation or association. The members of the committee have been directed to report for duties to the District Election Officer forthwith.
