HAFLONG: A crucial meeting was held at the District Commissioner’s Conference Hall in Haflong to discuss the ongoing Dharti Aaba Janajatiya Utkarsha Janbhagidari Abhiyan on Sunday. Chaired by the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), the meeting brought together Executive Members and Heads of Departments (HoDs) from the district.

The CEM emphasized the importance of achieving 100% saturation of government schemes, particularly in remote and tribal areas; developing effective Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to ensure all eligible beneficiaries can access government welfare schemes; organizing targeted outreach camps to bridge existing gaps in scheme coverage; and ensuring close coordination between departments and stakeholders to successfully implement the Abhiyan.

The Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan is a comprehensive development scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2, 2024, with a budget outlay of Rs 79,150 crore. The initiative aims to enhance social infrastructure, health services, educational access, and livelihood opportunities for over 5 crore tribal people, bridge developmental gaps in nearly 63,000 tribal villages across 30 states and Union Territories, and implement 25 interventions across multiple sectors, ensuring holistic development of tribal communities.
