Meet on Systematic Voters' Education & Participation held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: A meeting on preparation of Systematic Voters' Education & Participation (SVEEP) Strategic Communication Roadmap (2021-2024) Documents was held on Saturday at the District Election office in Kokrajhar.

The meeting chaired by Kokrajhar Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rajiv Kumar Das was attended by officials of line departments. The meeting was held seeking inputs and suggestions on comprehensive and proactive collaboration and participation of department/divisions/units/institutions which come under the district jurisdiction and can be engaged and mobilised for the SVEEP efforts.

Das said that the Election Commission of India was in the process of developing a National SVEEP Strategic Communication Roadmap (2021-2024) documents. He stated that the significance of SVEEP is that it focuses on targeted approach in order to bridge the gap of low voter turnout at polling booths.

SVEEP is a multi-intervention programme that reaches out to educate citizens about the electoral process in order to increase their awareness and participation, he added. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Commissioner Portia Khanikar.
