Meeting held on Swarnirbhar Nari in N C Hills Autonomous Council

Haflong: Samuel Changsan, Executive Member of N C Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), chaired a meeting on the newly-launched Swarnirbhar Nari (under Atma Nibhar Assam) with Principal Secretary, NCHAC, Secretary, NCHAC, Project Director of DRDA and other officials on Wednesday.

The meeting was aimed to further empower the women individual and SHGs of Dima Hasao, through this well-conceptualized Swarnirbhar Nari scheme. A 'practical' convergence of line departments was resolved. A time-bound plan, in line with the State Government's guidelines, was envisaged. Based on local area conditions, all 219 blocks of Assam, including five development blocks, have been given options of various livelihood schemes to be taken up by women (separate for individual and group SHGs). Under Swarnirbhar Nari scheme, multiple departments and beneficiaries will be strictly bound by rules during the various stages of implementation to ensure success and some real economic uplift of women.
