DIBRUGARH: A meeting was convened at the conference hall the DC office regarding submission of list of influential leading citizens of Dibrugarh district who had brought changes or have contributed immensely for the uplift of the society in the Dibrugarh district.

The Chief Minister has started a practice of communicating with leading citizens of various districts of Assam by way of letters, e-mail and telephone, for which every district DC will submit a list of such influencers.

In this regard, a committee was formed on May 19 in Dibrugarh and on Wednesday, in connection with the submission of the list, the meeting was held at the DC office conference hall.

The meeting was presided over by Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu and the District Development Commissioner, Sanjoy Dutta, Inspector of Schools Shrimati Dipika Choudhury, senior citizens' representative Shrimati Kalpana Khowand, Bar Council representative Shyamal Seal attended the meeting.

The two leading citizens present in the meeting informed about various influential people of Dibrugarh and simultaneously offered their valuable knowledge about the project. The DC asked both the representatives to search, investigate and submit the list of the leading citizens of Dibrugarh district who had contributed for the uplift of the society and had brought certain changes.

The DC further mentioned that about 1,000 names of leading citizens should be incorporated in the list along with the names, phone numbers, e-mail IDs, addresses, and other details and a pro-forma was also given to the officers and representatives present in the meeting. In this regard, the DC said that the Circle Officers should be aware of the order too.
