DHUBRI: The members of The Humanity, an NGO, led by Sudip Kundu submitted a memorandum to Dhubri Divisional Forest Officer on sticking boards (advertisements) on roadside trees recently which not only defaces the tree but is also an illegal act.
The organisation urged upon the forest department to take strict action against the persons or organisations who clandestinely put hoardings and display materials of an advertisement on trees.
"It is absolutely an illegal act which should be stopped. Further, those who are involved in sticking boards on trees also should be warned and fined for these acts," Kundu added.
Assistant Conservator of Forest, Md.Anisur Rahman received the memorandum on behalf of DFO and assured The Humanity team of appropriate action against the offenders.
