TINSUKIA: Contrary to the claim of Digboi MLA Suren Phukan that there exists no kaccha rural road in Digboi, the plight of commuters residing in 6 no ward of 1no Golai under Golai Gaon Panchyat is enough to doubt his credibility.

The half-a-kilometre road in front of Milonpur-Nanghar is reeling under mud and sludge. According to local villagers, paver blocks were laid in major portion of the road barring that section for reasons best known to the MLA and panchyat. The examinees of schools and colleges are extremely hit-hard besides the workers of 2 industries including a boughtleaf factory located in the vicinity are facing extreme difficulties in commuting the road under ankle-deep mud and knee-deep water. They alleged that despite written complaints on several occasions neither GolaiGoan Panchyat president nor MLA SurenPhukan paid any heed to their grievances. They have sought intervention of Tinsukia district administration so that they get little respite before approaching monsoon.
