Dhekiajuli: A series of significant developmental initiatives were launched in Dhekiajuli on Saturday reinforcing the commitment to a cleaner and greener Assam. Minister and MLA of Dhekiajuli Assembly Constituency, Ashok Singhal, inaugurated multiple projects, including a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and a waste-to-compost plant in Suryapur.
The day began with a check distribution ceremony at 9:30am at the MLA Sewa Kendra in Bhotpara, where financial aid was provided under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Following this, at 10:30 am, the minister distributed sports equipment to young athletes at Bhotpara Stadium, as part of a community-based youth club scheme supported by the Dhekiajuli district administration and the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare. At 11:00am, Minister Singhal officially inaugurated the MRF and waste-to-compost plant in Suryapur, under Dhekiajuli Co-District aiming to promote sustainable waste management and environmental conservation in the region.
Continuing the series of inaugurations, the minister opened a model Anganwadi center in Paschim Sirajuli at 12:00pm, followed by another Anganwadi center at the Arun Tea Estate Hospital Line at 12:45pm. These initiatives seek to enhance early childhood education and nutrition services for local general public.
The day’s final event took place at 2:00 pm in Sapai Bhutiayali, where a newly constructed park, dedicated to the memory of former minister and MP Joseph Toppo, was opened to the public. The park stands as a tribute to Toppo’s contributions to his constituency and offers a green recreational space for residents.
These initiatives reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, promote sustainability, and support local communities in Dhekiajuli.
