Minister for Agriculture Atul Bora, DC and SP participate in Tinsukia I-Day celebration

TINSUKIA: Minister for Agriculture and Veterinary Atul Bora hoisted the tricolour on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day at Boy’s ITI Field Tinsukia in a centralized programme organized by Tinsukia district administration. Braving inclement weather and intermittent rains, a large number of people from all walks of life joined the celebration. After unfurling the National Flag, the Minister in his address, while highlighting State’s achievement, also elaborated Tinsukia district’s status vis-à-vis development. He assured that all on-going projects would be completed within the stipulated time. The podium was shared by the minister, DC Oinam Sarankumar Singh and SP Shiladitya Chetia.

The event witnessed felicitation of freedom fighter Satyalata Gogoi of Philobari, yoga teacher Sukhamol Nath of Margherita, Nunu Mahato of DC’s Tinsukia, gold medallist in Asian Yoga Championship Pratyutsha Shyamoli Gogoi, progressive farmers Rantu Chetia of Dharia and Diganta Buragohain of Borjhia Sadiya and best VDP team No 2 Dibrujan Women VDP under Pengaree PS. Prizes were also distributed to winners of various competitions like patriotic songs, quiz, march past, essay writing, speech, group dance that were held during past two days at different venues.
