Minister Krishnendu Paul Chairs Review Meeting to Assess Progress of Government Schemes in Cachar District

SILCHAR: Minister for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Fisheries, and PWD (Roads),  Krishnendu Paul, presided over a comprehensive review meeting at the new conference hall of DC’S office here on Saturday.

The primary focus of the meeting was to assess the progress of ongoing government schemes under his departments and to strategize the effective execution of flagship programmes to ensure maximum impact on beneficiaries without hindrances.

In his keynote address, Minister Krishnendu Paul emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to inclusive development and said, “Our priority is to ensure that every citizen benefits from the welfare schemes and that these initiatives translate into measurable and meaningful progress. Seamless implementation, combined with continuous monitoring, is the key to achieving this vision.”

The minister further reiterated the importance of inter-departmental coordination to address implementation challenges and strengthen grassroots-level governance.

The meeting witnessed the active participation of prominent leaders and officials, including MLA Silchar Dipayan, Udharbond MLA, Mihir Kanti Shom, Dholai MLA, Nihar Ranjan Das.

Cachar DC Mridul Yadav and District development commissioner Norsing Bey, District President of BJP Cachar Bimalendu Roy alongside other senior officials and staff from the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Fisheries, and PWDR departments were present.

During the session, officials presented updates on the progress of ongoing projects, identified bottlenecks, and outlined future plans aimed at scaling up development efforts in the region. Minister Paul directed the officials to adopt innovative solutions and expedited approaches to address any delays, ensuring that welfare initiatives reach the intended beneficiaries.

The review meeting not only reaffirmed the government’s dedication to serving the people of Assam but also showcased a collective resolve to drive sustainable growth and development across the Cachar district, stated a press release.
