Minister of AYUSH holds review meeting for Aspirational District at Dhubri

DHUBRI: Central Minister of State for AYUSH, Health and Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadav, held a review meeting with all the officials on the Aspirational District Programme at the conference hall of Circuit House in Dhubri after visiting Gauripur Girl’s High School for construction of two additional classrooms under ADP fund on Tuesday.

Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath, ADC Srimati Santana Borah, administrative officers, and Heads of various departments attended the meeting which was chaired by the Minister.

Minister Jadav reviewed the developmental programmes under various schemes of Health, Family Welfare, Agriculture, AYUSH, etc.

Dhubri DC Dibakar Nath in his briefing informed the Minister that when the Aspirational District concept started in the year 2018, the institutional deliveries under the health department in Dhubri was 56% which had now increased to 90%. DC Nath said that it was major growth in the health sector and for the development of Dhubri.

The DC further mentioned that since Dhubri was located near the Brahmaputra, the places located in the char areas still needed to be reached and accessed. He also informed that Dhubri district provided a Boat Ambulance facility and the administration would further increase its services under this facility.

The Minister enquired about the basic problems faced by the district and the kind of assistance the Central Govt could provide to assist for rapid development. He also enquired about the condition of toilets in schools.

He further reviewed Prandhan Mantri Awas Yojana, MGNREGA and also asked the agricultural department to take necessary steps for organic farming and said that the people should be cognizant of organic farming for good health. He then reviewed the services of the public health programme undergoing under National Ayush Mission, Dhubri.

The Dhubri DC informed that a follow-up meeting would be organized and an action taken report would also be submitted soon.

Minister Jadav concluded the meeting by mentioning that he was satisfied with the ongoing pace of development and expecting optimistic steps in the coming days.
