HAFLONG: Guardian Minister for Dima Hasao, Rupesh Gowala, chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) Secretariat in Haflong on Thursday. The meeting, attended by Minister Nandita Gorlosa and CEM Debolal Gorlosa, focused on assessing the progress of flagship programmes and welfare schemes. Minister Gowala ordered strict action against underperforming Anganwadi workers, emphasizing the need for efficient service delivery.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of schemes like Orunodoi 3.0 and Jal Jeevan Mission, with a focus on improving healthcare facilities, particularly the upgradation of Jatinga SD Labour room to ensure safer childbirths.

PWD engineers highlighted challenges in tendering processes due to unfamiliarity with the district’s terrain, prompting CEM Gorlosa to suggest encouraging local bidders who are more familiar with the area.
