Minor girl dead after train hits Passenger Vehicle at Tengani

SARUPATHAR: The 12067 Up Janasatabdi train hit a passenger vehicle in Khokonguri at Tengani under the Dhansiri subdivision on Friday evening, killing a minor girl of eight years, authorities said. According to the report, the vehicle was travelling over the tracks and there was no railway crossing or safety gate. The vehicle did not stop as the train approached. Investigators believe that three people were in the vehicle, including the driver. The driver and the other passenger somehow managed to come out of the vehicle and save their lives but the eight-year-old girl died. First responders have been able to access that the vehicle was a Tata Magic with registration number AS 05 C 7850, which was heavily damaged. The accident took place at Khonkonguri, Tengani under the Dhansiri subdivision in Golaghat district on Friday evening.
