MISCREANT SETS GURU ASHAN OF BARPETA GANAKKUCHI SATRA ON FIRE

Sensation prevailed in lower Assam's Barpeta after a scoundrel set Guru Ashan of the famous historical Ganakkuchi Satra on fire on 3rd September. A youth purportedly entered the Vaishnavite site and set the Guru Ashan on fire.The incident started sensation in the locality as Guru Ashan is extremely venerated by the devotees.

local people arrived on the spot and caught the heretic later. He was given over to police.The local people have requested rigid activity against the guilty party.A Devotee said that "It is a pre-planned act. There must be someone behind him".
