Miscreants Attempt Rape Of Two Girls In Gohpur, Flees After Locals Chase Them

Gohpur: On Wednesday, two girls were made victims of a gang rape attempt by 8 miscreants who later fled after the locals foiled their plans in Lakhimpur's Gohpur.

A per the sources, the two girls were on their way home after concluding their Durga Puja celebrations when they were grabbed from behind and had their mouths closed with bare hands by the miscreants who forcefully shoved them into a magic van. The van bore the registration number AS 07AC 9326. This incident took place in the Charaibari area in Gohpur.

Fortunately, the locals in the area spoiled their plans to attempt rape by chasing them. The miscreants soon fled from the scene upon seeing the locals, leaving the girls behind.

The police have, however, managed to identify the miscreants as Aaple Pegu, Mozifur Kaman, Mridul Pitiki, Liteh Pegu, Nabajyoti Pegu, Nandlal Doley and Bipin Kutum. The gang is now on the run and no arrests have been made so far.

The family of the two girls have also registered a case against the culprits at the Gohpur Police Station. 

The two girls also underwent a medical case following the incident.

Last month, a man in Boko raped a woman and murdered her 3-month-old child.

The woman was also threatened by the man who claimed that he would kill her if she disclosed the incident in front of anyone.

The police later arrested the man. The body of the baby which was buried was also later recovered by the police.
