MLA Akhil Gogoi denies joining Aam Aadmi Party

SIVASAGAR: The news that Raijor Dal president and Sivasagar Constituency MLA Akhil Gogoi is joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was termed as completely false by Akhil Gogoi. The news has gone viral on social media and many political leaders have taken to social media to comment on his joining. But Akhil Gogoi on Monday declared such propaganda baseless before the media in Sivasagar. The MLA said that he has a good personal relationship with the Aam Aadmi Party leadership, but the relationship has never been political.

"Though I have been with them since the birth of the AAP, but have never thought of getting together with them politically," said Gogoi. He also said, "The Raijor Dal is a regional-nationalist force and our aim is to overthrow the BJP. In such an interest, we will take everyone's help but do not worry about leaving the people's party and joining any party." MLA Gogoi, on the other hand, became vocal against the government over the State's PPE Kit scam. He demanded a high level inquiry into the scam and said all financial irregularities in the name of the COVID should be investigated.
