Sivasagar MLA and Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi slams BJP

DIBRUGARH: Sivasagar MLA and Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi on Wednesday participated in a party meeting in Dibrugarh. Raijor Dal has been organizing party meetings in every district of Assam to strengthen their party grassroot level.

Talking to media persons, Akhil Gogoi said, "We have started the meetings in every district of Assam to strengthen our party at the grassroots level. Our main objective is to strengthen regionalism."

Slamming the Narendra Modi led-BJP government, Gogoi said the government had failed to control the skyrocketing price rise of essential commodities. "Not only essential commodities, the price of medicine has also increased heavily. The government has failed miserably to control the price hike. The people are facing a hard time due to price rise of essential commodities."

Gogoi also come down heavily on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for beating the development drum. He said the prices of iron rode, cement and other items used for construction have also been hiked.
