MLA Akhil Gogoi inspects various places of Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: After arriving at Sivasagar on Friday, the newly-elected Sivasagar MLA and Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi inspected various areas of his constituency and interacted with the people on Saturday.

With a view to look after the people of his constituency and take stock of the infrastructure development of the constituency as MLA, he visited the historic Jamuna canal, Borpukhuri, old bridge over Dikhow River, Sati Joymati Maidam and other historical sites.

Visiting the Talatal Ghar, Gogoi expressed concern over the dilapidated condition of the monument and the alleged encroachment there. Gogoi said, "Most of the monuments and structures are lying in a dilapidated condition and unattended, as it seems that there is no government to look after these." Gogoi said that he would raise voice over these issues and demand immediate preservation of these monuments.
