LAKHIMPUR: The month-long nam prasanga organized daily at Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra on the occasion of the sacred month of 'Bhada' (Bhaadrapad in the Sanskrit language) concluded with colourful programmes in a spiritual environment.
Since its establishment, the nam prasanga, and Nam-Kirtan events have been organized in the month of Bhada at Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra, the noted Vaishnav-Peeth of the Northeast region, located in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district, following the ideology preached by Mahapurush Shrimanta Sankardev. On the concluding day on Saturday, nam prasanga, aai-nam, thiya nam events were held from the early morning to midnight and the xatra became sonorous with the sound of the holy name of the Almighty. On the day, several hundreds of devotees and disciples from different districts of the State thronged the Xatra on this occasion.
Amid these religious events, a book release programme was also organized under the management of Xatra Management and Development Committee secretary Birendra Dev Goswami. In the programme, a book named "Pavitra Bhada Mah Aru Shri Shri Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra", was released by Xatradhikar Bhupendra Dev Goswami and Deka Xatradhikar Bhogendra Dev Goswami. The book is written by retired Principal Devendra Dev Goswami covering characteristics of the month of Bhada, significance and importance of the Nam-Prasanga, Nam-Kirtan held in the month of Bhada and the role of Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra in advancing the tradition. The book has been published by Rajib Baruah, the secretary of the Old Resources Conservation and Development Sub-Committee of the Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra
In the evening, recitation of nam-ghosa, kirtan-ghosa and gunmala was held. Biju Goswami, the office bearer of the Xatra Management and Development Committee extended heartfelt thanks to all the devotees disciples of the Xatra, who took part in the month long programme to enjoy the aesthetic beauty and bliss of spirituality.
