MORIGAON: The 43th biennial session of Morigaon District Pensioners’ Association (MDPA) was held at its office with a daylong programme in Morigaon on Sunday. The flag of the organization was hoisted by the President of MDPA, Mileswar Patar while the Secretary of the organization, Ramesh Ch Barman, lit the ceremonial lamp. The selection meeting for new members in the body was inaugurated by Satyabrat Barthakur. In the meeting, the annual report of the secretary and annual audit report were read out. The meeting also decided to retain the current executive committee led by Mileswar Patar for the next two years.

An open meeting was held in conjunction with the session in the afternoon. The meeting was formally inaugurated by former President Dr Puniram Patar. The meeting was attended by Dr Kamal Kumar Bora, Secretary, Assam Government Pensioners Association, Herambaprasad Das, and Guruprasad Medhi as the keynote speakers and distinguished guests. The meeting was attended by Atul Chandra Barua, Hansadhar Das, former President of Morigaon District Committee Dr Nakul Chandra Barua, Dr Tuleswar Nath, prominent social worker Reena Deka, Bhupendra Nath Bardoloi, and several other dignitaries.
