MP Gaurav Gogoi Tested Positive for COVID-19, Says Mild Symptoms

Guwahati: Indian politician of National Congress and Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi from Assam tested Covid positive, and has isolated himself for the required time

"I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am isolating myself for the required time. I have mild symptoms. All those who came into contact with me last few days are requested to observe their symptoms and test if necessary" Congress Leader stated in a post

Recently Gaurav Gogoi took to Twitter and expressed heartache over the state government's decision to restrict Bihu celebrations but allow electioneering for local body polls.

"New SOP in Assam have closed schools and restricted Bihu celebrations but election campaigning for local Thengal Kachari Autonomous Elections are untouched by the state government," Gaurav tweeted. He termed it an irony to have the dual approach of the state government towards elections and festivities and classroom activities amid an alarming surge in Covid cases. "I'm part of the political process so will abide by the rules but it's hard to ignore the irony," he wrote.

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir, a Lok Sabha member from East Delhi, announced today that he has tested positive with COVID-19

"After experiencing mild symptoms, I tested positive for COVID today. Requesting everyone who came into my contact to get themselves tested" he wrote in a Twitter post.

In November, last year Gautam Gambhir isolated himself at home after a family member tested positive
