Muslims urged to observe Ramzan with restrictions

UDALGURI: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Udalguri DC Prakash Ranjan Gharphalia to discuss about Ramzan at Udalguri DC office. Some guidelines were issued for the observation of Ramzan. The Muslim families are requested to avoid activities like giving free food, cash etc. to needy people during upcoming Ramzan and avoid mass gathering for Iftar party. The meeting has also made an appeal to ensure social distancing and wearing of masks in all public places due to COVID-19. The Deputy Commissioner has directed the Deputy Director of Udalguri FCS & CA to ensure the availability of food items including fruits, vegetables, grocery items and dry fruits the market during the Ramzan month. All circle officers were directed to convene meetings with masjid committees in the respective circles.
