Naharkatia AASU stages rally against contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act

NAHARKATIA: Responding to the call of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) under the aegis of AASU, Naharkatia regional unit and with the help of the people of Naharkatia, a sit-in was staged in front of AASU, Naharkatia regional unit office.

More than 50 people took part in the protest. All Dibrugarh District Students’ Union president Bulbul Dutta, advisor Tachen Deka, Gorkha Students’ Union Naharkatia regional unit president Pushkar Sharma and other organizations joined the protest. The activists shouted various slogans against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 and against the government. They clearly said that they would continue their agitation until this contentious Act was scrapped.
