GUWAHATI: In a startling incident, a poor family girl from Nalbari was trafficked to Rajasthan by a racket and sold there to a group to involve her in the flesh trade.

Based on a complainant filed by her father, the Nalbari police acted promptly and rescued her from Rajasthan. The victim, who is from Doulashal, was sold to a human trafficker racket by her two known youths in the last Ramjan month.

Following her missing, her father lodged a complaint in the Doulashal Police Station. Based on the complaint the police probed the incident and rescued the girl. The victim told the media that she was sold for Rs. 4lakh in Rajasthan and the buyer tried to involve her in the flesh trade.

"I was taken to Rajasthan by Nazrul Ali and Saif Ali. They are known to me. One day when I went to Moukalmowa, they met and gave me ice cream to eat. After eating the ice cream, I lost my sense. When I returned my sense, I knew that it was Rajasthan. They sold me for Rs 4 lakh there. I was kept in a remote area,'' she said.

After reaching her home she filed a complaint against Nazrul and Saif in the Doulashal police station. She alleged that Nazrul and Saif sold 10 more girls from Assam in Rajasthan and appealed to the police to rescue them.

Earlier, in a shocking revelation, two women child traffickers, who have been arrested by the Maharashtra police, confessed that they have bought and trafficked children to make them beg. In the police interrogation, the traffickers revealed that they buy a child for Rs. 50,000. Later, they made the children beg. Police busted the racket and arrested the women from Aurangabad district. Police suspected that more people could be involved with the racket and continue investigation basing on the revelations made by these two arrested women.
