BOKO: The NDA turned up the heat in the Boko constituency on Wednesday with a packed election rally at Boko Gandhi Maidan, featuring a helicopter arrival by Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief Hagrama Mohilary and Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah.
NDA candidate Raju Mech used the platform to make an appeal that was as much emotional as it was political — urging voters to cast their ballot for the BJP as "a sacred act, akin to undertaking a pilgrimage."

Mech framed his candidacy around the idea of historic change, asserting that the Boko constituency was ready to elect a BJP legislator for the very first time.
The constituency has so far eluded the BJP's column, making a win here a significant symbolic and electoral prize for the ruling party.
BTR chief Hagrama Mohilary, who arrived by helicopter alongside Minister Mallabaruah, drew attention to the strong female presence in the crowd with a touch of humour.
"When women attend in such numbers, it means Goddess Lakshmi has come to the BJP," he remarked, to an enthusiastic response from the gathering.
Delivering his address across three languages — Assamese, Hindi, and Bodo — Mohilary assured residents that any development needs of the Boko-Chaygaon area would be looked into. He highlighted the ongoing construction of Bodoland guest houses across India and pledged similar projects for the constituency if needed.
Cabinet Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah used his turn at the podium to highlight the NDA government's welfare schemes for women, contrasting them with what he described as the Congress party's approach to voters.
He alleged that Congress had little to offer beyond "lungis, caps, thread, and blankets" — a pointed jab at what he portrayed as token, transactional politics from the opposition.
