Kokrajhar: Over 30 top leaders of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), including the general secretary of NDFB (S), BR Ferenga, joined the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) party on Tuesday. The top leader of the now-disbanded NDFB, BR Ferenga, who was one of the signatories of the Bodo Peace Accord, joined UPPL at a ceremonial function held on Tuesday at Dotma in Kokrajhar.
Others who joined the UPPL are NDFB-P home secretary Dominic Islary, information and publicity secretary S. Sanjarang, judicial secretary Chila Basumatary, NDFB-P secretary B Jaikhlong, People’s Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement (PJACBM) convener Eragdao Brahma, PJACBM district leaders Issac Basumatary and Prabin Basumatary, among others. The mass joining of NDFB leaders and cadres came after NDFB-S general secretary Gobinda Basumatary joined the UPPL party a few days back.
