New Darrang Deputy Commissioner Pranab Kumar Sarma Takes Charge

Former Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath district Pranab Kumar Sarma, an officer of the 1992 batch of Assam Civil Service has taken over as the 29th Deputy Commissioner of Darrang district on Tuesday.

MANGALDAI: Former Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath district Pranab Kumar Sarma, an officer of the 1992 batch of Assam Civil Service has taken over as the 29th Deputy Commissioner of Darrang district on Tuesday. This morning he took over the charge from the officiating Deputy Commissioner Subhalaxmi Deka. Additional Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Deka, SDO (Sadar) Jonti Deka and all the staff of the Deputy Commissioner's office accorded a hearty welcome to the newly joined Deputy Commissioner.

Talking to The Sentinel immediately after his taking over as the Deputy Commissioner, Pranab Kumar Sarma said that he would make all initiative and effort in expediting the pace of all round development works for the district with special priority in the agriculture sector. He also assured to make a special initiative to inspire and encourage the younger generation in taking up multi cropping agriculture. He said making 'Project Gorukhuti' - the dream project of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma a successful one would be given top priority. He also sought all cooperation and constructive suggestion from the mediapersons, social activists and all sections of the society.
