HAFLONG: Along with the rest of the districts in Assam Mukhya Mantriu Nijut Moina 2.0 was launched in Dima Hasao too where the ceremonial distribution was done at Maibang and Haflong simultaneously. Assam Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Nandita Gorlosa attended the programme at Maibang Degree College along with the District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey, SDO Civil Shyamanta Rabi Bara and others.
Whereas in Haflong the programme was attended by the NCHAC MACs, Dy. Chairman of Council, Principal Haflong government college, ADCs AK Illias Ahmed, Shhaurya Sharma, Sangeeta Devi, Chairperson Haflong Municipal Board Ripa Hojai, Asst. Commissioners, and many others.

During the event, Hon’ble Minister Nandita Gorlosa emphasized the transformative power of education: “A girl child encounters numerous hurdles social, economic, and emotional. Through Nijut Moina Asoni, the government intends to bolster their educational journey and foster a generation of strong, self-reliant women, paving the way for Assam’s future,” she stated. She further urged students to imbue their lives with values and to cultivate confidence in their pursuits. As part of the scheme, students are eligible to receive financial assistance amounting to Rs 1,000 for Class XI, Rs 1,250 for the first year of graduation, and Rs 2,500 for postgraduate studies, each for a duration of 10 months.
In Haflong, MAC John Poithong represented NCHAC CEM during the programme along with his council colleagues. MAC Poithong stated that the such welfare schemes for female students in the state will not only uplift the student’s life but also society. Others who delivered their speech were EM Niranjan Hojai, Dy Chairman NCHAC Ngunminlal Lienthang. ADC Sangeeta Devi delivered the welcome speech and briefed about MMNM scheme under which the Assam government provides financial assistance to girl child to pursue higher education.
NAGAON: Along with the rest of the state, the Chief Minister’s highly anticipated ‘Nijut Moina’ scheme, an application distribution ceremony was also organized various spots in the district today here. A event of the ceremonial distribution of application forms of the same flagship scheme being initiated by the state government was also organized today at Nagaon University today here. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the centrally launch event at Gauhati University, which was live-streamed at Nagaon University too.
Local MLA Rupak Sarma attended the ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted how the ‘Nijut Moina’ scheme will benefit students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, help eradicate child marriage, and support girls’ education. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to girl students, encouraging them to pursue their education and empowering them to make informed decisions about their future.
During the event, application forms for the ‘Nijut Moina’ scheme were also distributed to the students in a grand ceremony. The event was attended by dignitaries, including Nagaon District Commissioner Debashish Sarma, Additional district Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Nagbanshi, Circle Officer of Nagaon Sadar Rishikesh Baruah, Inspector of Schools Mridul Nath, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaon University, Dr Hitesh Deka, Registrar Dhrubajyoti Baruah.
The event was also attended by faculty members, non-teaching staff and over a thousand girl students. The event was marked by enthusiasm and excitement among the students, who expressed their gratitude for the initiative and eagerness to benefit from the scheme.
The ‘Nijut Moina’ scheme is expected to make a significant impact on girls’ education in Assam, and the application distribution ceremony at Nagaon University was a successful step towards achieving this goal.
DHUBRI: To select girl students under the Nijut Moina 2.0 scheme across 16 colleges, forms were distributed in three legislative constituencies of Dhubri — Golakganj, Gauripur, and Dhubri on Wednesday, and a total of 6,652 girl students likely to be benefitted from this initiative. On Wednesday, Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, officially launched the Nijut Moina Scheme 2.0 on behalf of the entire state at Gauhati University.
The launch was followed by special programmes held in each college, with ministers, MLAs, and other distinguished guests present, as coordinated by the Chief Minister’s Office.
SIVASAGAR: As part of the state-wide rollout of the ‘Nijut Moina 2.0’ scheme formally launched by Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, application forms distribution events were held today across various educational institutions in Sivasagar district.
Under the scheme, application forms were distributed to eligible girl students from 37 higher secondary schools, 5 senior secondary schools, 12 colleges and one university in the district. The beneficiaries included students from Higher Secondary 1st and 2nd years, undergraduate 1st semester and postgraduate level.
At the district level, Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain attended the main function held at Bir Lachit Borphukan College. Similarly, Nazira MLA Debabrata Saikia participated in the programme at Nazira College, former MLA Kushal Duwari attended the event at Sibsagar University and District Commissioner Aayush Garg graced the function held at Sivasagar Girls’ College.
HOJAI: In accordance with the directives of the Government of Assam and with the objective of promoting the educational advancement of female students, the inauguration ceremony of the “Nijut Moina” scheme was held in an enthusiastic atmosphere at the central auditorium of Bharat Tirtha Bhavan, Srimanta Sankardev Campus, Rabindranath Thakur Vishwavidyalaya, Hojai on Wednesday. It is expected that through this scheme, hundreds of female students of the university will gain a new opportunity to pursue higher education. Students from the first and third semesters of undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce, along with postgraduate students of the third semester, actively participated in the event.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest Ramkrishna Ghosh MLA of Hojai Legislative Assembly Constituency stated that the “Nijut Moina” scheme is not just a financial aid provided by the government, but it is a foundation for a social revolution. Through such a scheme, many female students of the state will be able to move forward in the field of education.
