TEZPUR: A special literary event was held where “Bisphurito Xomoyor Ahlad”, a short story collection by noted writer Raju Baruah, and her song anthology “Sudin Proyaxhor Geet” were unveiled. The ceremony took place at the Baliram Lahkar Hall of the century-old Asomiya Club in Tezpur, graced by Dr. Sanjib Pol Deka, Professor of Assamese at Tezpur University and recipient of the Xahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar.  Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Deka emphasized that human creativity has many dimensions, and only by exploring them can the society, literature, and culture of a nation truly flourish. Drawing a vivid metaphor, he said that the tears of the tea garden community and the red sap from the plucked tea leaves can be truly felt only through creative expression. He further added that a writer’s position, ideology, and worldview inevitably reflect in their literary work.

The event began under the guidance of retired teacher and writer Rinjumoni Neog Bora, with member of Asomiya Club Pankaj Baruah initiating the proceedings. The inaugural session opened with a song by Swapan Majumdar, secretary of Tezpur Janaxanxkritik Parishad. Author Raju Barua delivered the welcome address, after which her song collection “Sudin Proyaxhor Geet” was launched by Anil Kumar Bhattacharya, former President of cultural organization Chatak.
