Numaligarh Refinery Limited organizes fishery project for unemployed youths in the neighborhood

Numaligarh: Numaligarh Refinery Limited has taken up several need-based sustainable social activities and visible projects impacting the larger society. NRL under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, has initiated a number of welfare projects for health, education and agriculture in the neighborhood.

In a move to promote self-employment and to increase income potentiality of farmers, NRL has come up with a new fishery project in collaboration with the fishery department of Golaghat. In an area of 33,000 sq km, NRL will initiate this fishery project for 20 unemployed youths from ‘Raja Ali Social Society’ of Raja Ali area. In this 12-month long project, NRL will provide high-quality fish fingerlings and fish feeds for the beneficiaries. In the inaugural function of this project, beneficiaries were also provided with basic training by fishery officers of Golaghat- Arunima Deka and Neelangana Kalita. Deputy General Manager, NRL, Mintu Kumar Handique and other officers of NRL were also present at the inaugural function of the fishery project.
