OBITUARY: Bulu Saikia

Bulu Saikia, a resident of Gerekichuk, Jamugurihat and a senior Congress leader, died on May 9 due to prolonged illness. She was 79. Saikia was a two-time Anchalik member of Naduar Anchalik Panchayat and was former president of Uttar Shilabandha GP.

Bulu Saikia was former vice president of Sootea Women Cell of the Congress party. She was associated with many socio-cultural organizations of the greater Jamugurihat area. Her demise was widely mourned here. She leaves behind two sons, two daughters along with a host of relatives.
