OBITUARY: Senior Sports Reporter Putu Das

Senior sports reporter, former state player, noted sports organizer and secretary of the Basketball branch of Nagaon Sports Association, Putu Das breathed his last on Thursday morning at his Amulapatty residence here. He was around 70.

His demise was condoled by Nagaon Sports Association, Nagaon Press Club and a host of dignitaries of sports as well as other fields of the town, including local MLA Rupak Sarma. His earthly remains were brought to the office of Nagaon Sports Association at Nagaon Nurul Amin Stadium where the members of Nagaon Sports Association paid floral tributes to him and also prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul. The members of Nagaon Press Club also paid floral tributes to him at the press club premises. His demise has cast a pall of gloom in the town.
