Employee stabs owner's wife to death at Nagaon

NAGAON: In a shocking incident, a youth identified as Subrata Majumdar of Lanka in Hojai district, stabbed a woman, identified as Rubi Dutta, to death with a sharp knife at her Ram Krishna Path residence at Nagaon on Sunday night. Police immediately arrested the youth at night. Besides, a tainted mobile phone with blood that he snatched away from the victim was also seized from his possession right after his arrest. Sources claimed that Subrata Majumdar earlier worked as a salesman at Raj Medical owned by Rajdeep Dutta, the husband of the victim at Nagaon Daccapatty area and also let him to stay at Rajdeep's old residence. Majumdar was terminated from his job a few months back due to his irregularities in his services and asked him to leave their house. Following the recent developments, the youth became angry and in a bid to take revenge on Rajdeep Dutta, he came on a motorcycle to his residence at Ram Krishna Path on Sunday night. When he did not find Rajdeep Dutta at the residence, he leapt on his wife, Rubi Dutta, in front of their 11 year-old-son and then stabbed her to death with a sharp knife on spot, sources said, adding that during interrogation, the arrested youth had already admitted his involvement in the heinous crime.
