Odia artiste Shyam Kumar Nag felicitated at Sankardev Kalakhetra

JAMUGURIHAT: Odia artiste Shyam Kumar Nag was recently felicitated by the Cultural and Affairs Department of the State Government and the BTR government recently.

Nag, an Odia folk artiste, is a permanent resident of Ghiladhari TE to the north of Sootea. He plays a pivotal role in preserving folk songs from the verge of extinction. Shyam is equally proficient in Odia folk songs and Assamese songs as well. The Cultural and Affairs Department of the State Government felicitated Nag at Sankardev Kalakhetra on February 12.

Similarly, the BTR government awarded the emerging artiste with 'Ragam Award' along with a cash amount for his distinguished contribution towards preservation and conservation of folk songs.
