One killed in road mishap at Jamugurihat
Ranjit Saikia, a resident of Pasigaon under Jamuguri police station, died in a road accident on Wednesday afternoon.

JAMUGURIHAT: Ranjit Saikia, a resident of Pasigaon under Jamuguri police station, died in a road accident on Wednesday afternoon. He was 60. According to information, Ranjit was on his way to Kusumtola when his bicycle was hit by a speeding truck on NH-15 near Shantipur. Local people immediately took him to North Jamuguri Block Primary Hospital but he succumbed to his injury before reaching the hospital. Many people have lost their lives due to ongoing construction work of four-lane road. The four-lane road construction work, which began nearly four years ago, has not been completed even 50 per cent as yet. The ongoing construction work causes a great deal of inconvenience to the commuters.
