GAURISAGAR: ONGC Assam Asset, in collaboration with the All India SC/ST Employees Welfare Association ONGC (AISCSTEWA), Nazira/Sivasagar Branch and Kudo Axom Federation, recently organized a 15-day long sports training programme at Koibartta Dalani, Demow in Sivasagar District.The event marked a significant step towards promoting sports and physical fitness in rural areas, with over 200 enthusiastic students participating in the initiative.
The programme was inaugurated by Hira Singh Rana, Chief General Manager (Geology) and Head of Forward Base, as well as the Chairman of the ACP 2024-24. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the role of sports in community development and youth engagement. Dembi Ram Panging, Chairman of AISCSTEWA ONGC, Assam Asset, emphasized the importance of discipline in achieving success, a value that can be profoundly learned through sports. He expressed gratitude towards ONGC Assam Asset for their commitment to fostering talent in rural communities and facilitating opportunities for young athletes.The ceremony also featured remarks from prominent local leaders Puna Ram Mili, President of the Sivasagar Sports Association, Shekhar Duwari, President of the Demow Press Club, who underscored the significance of collaborative efforts in promoting sports and healthy living among the youth.
