KOKRAJHAR: The ruling United People' Party Liberal (UPPL) party on Thursday reiterated that the Opposition party had been hatching conspiracy with malicious intention and incorrect propaganda to bring confusion among the common masses and cautioned that the people should not believe in factually incorrect information.

Talking to mediapersons at BTC Secretariat on Thursday, the political secretary to the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Madhav Chandra Chetry, who is also the MCLA, said that it had come to the notice of the BTC government under some malicious and factually incorrect propaganda, it was being assumed that the power of the BTC government was being curtailed. It has been alleged that 16 departments of BTC have been transferred to Dispur. Additionally, rumours are also being spread regarding the official communication bearing no TAD/BTC/378/2017/173, dated December 6, 2021 seeking information on vacant posts available in grade- III and grade- IV posts across Assam, including the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

Chetry firmly reiterated that for the purpose of promoting good governance, the services of Deputy Commissioners of four districts of BTR had been roped in through an order by the Principal Secretary of BTR only for monitoring and supervision of developmental work carried out by the government. Secondly, he clarified that the recruitment for grade- III and grade- IV posts has always been done by the BTC government.

Chetry said that the Assam Government would be providing one lakh jobs and hence information regarding availability of vacant posts had been sought by the relevant department and authority. Based on this information, the BTC government will carry out the recruitment as per the established procedure, he said.
