Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) awareness week successfully concludes at Demow Model Hospital

DEMOW: An Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) awareness week was observed in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics Sibsagar district branch in Demow Model Hospital, which successfully concluded on Thursday. The Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) awareness week is observed every year from July 25 to July 31, with the objective of preventing diarrhoea-related mortality in children and promoting the correct preparation and usage of ORS.

This year, the Demow Model Hospital actively participated in this vital public health initiative. Under the leadership of Dr Gaurav Choudhary, a child specialist, and with the support of Counsellor Diganta Barua, a series of impactful awareness programmes were organized across different locations including Desang Rajabari, Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality Hospital, Athabari Anganwadi Centre with assistance from Puhor Club and social worker Biki Verma, and in Demow Model Hospital among ASHA workers and health staff.

Practical demonstrations on ORS preparation and usage were included in each session. The awareness drive concluded on July 31, marking a successful culmination of the collaborative efforts to spread life-saving knowledge at the grassroots level.

Dr Gaurav Choudhary extended gratitude to all collaborators, including local clubs, healthcare workers, community volunteers, and the IAP Sibsagar District Branch, whose active participation made this initiative impactful and successful. In the Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) awareness week concluding programme in the Demow Model Hospital, doctors, healthcare workers, and ASHA workers were present on Thursday.
