Guwahati: Amidst the huge controversies and criticisms pouring in social media for Priyanka Chopra blaming her for not taking any initiative in Assam floods despite being the brand ambassador of the state, state minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has come forward to clear the confusions of people. The state minister, in his tweet, has stated that to his best knowledge, the actress is no longer associated with Assam as its brand ambassador.

Notably, Dr. Sarma made this tweet in response to a users query in which the user had asked Assam government as to what is the use of signing such Bollywood celebrities for Assam tourism who does not feel the need to make a little donation or even share their thought on Assam flood.
As known from reliable sources, Priyanka Chopras was signed as a brand ambassador for Assam tourism for a term of 2 years that started on December 19th, 2016.
Perhaps, seeing the concern and criticisms made for her on the social media or may be moved by the flood news of the state that Priyanka took to make a tweet on 17 July. in her tweet, Priyanka wrote how devastating she is feeling looking at the news of flood coming from Assam. Her post reads:
