BISWANATH CHARIALI: All the picnic spots in Biswanath district have been closed. Deba Kumar Mishra, District Magistrate of Biswanath and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, has banned people from going to picnics in the district under section 34 (c), 34 (m) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. It is pertinent to note that such guidelines have been issued to control the unwarranted spread of COVID-19 by preventing perceived dangers to human life, health and safety.
"Picnics are such a public gathering place that the possibility of COVID-19 transmission could not be ruled out," Mishra said.
Therefore, in order to curb the spread of COVID, the district administration has taken such a decision. Any person violating this order may be liable to a fine in accordance with the Disaster Management Act 2005, Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions. The order will remain in force until further notice.
