Plea to construct RCC bridge to Rupatal LP School at Bhehguri

KALAIGAON: A bamboo bridge on the road from Mekenzi to Rupatal LP School at Bhehguri is the only mode of communication for the villagers of villages like Rupatal, Balipara and Bhehgui under Kalaigaon revenue circle. But the bridge is washed away by floods every monsoon.

The water level of River Noa rises above the danger level due to heavy rainfall every year, posting a serious threat to several villages like Balipara, Hapabari, Rupatal and Bhehguri. As the result, the only bamboo bridge on the road from Mekenzi to Rupatal LP School is washed away by floods every year. This bridge is the only mode of communication to connect Kalaigaon town with other villages of the area.

The people have repaired the bridge on their own. They have urged the authority concerned to convert the bridge to RCC for the all-round development of the area. They also requested BTC EM DigantaBarua to take initiative for construction of an RCC bridge in place of the bamboo bridge.
