NALBARI: O Mor Rodor Sarai, an anthology of modern Assamese poetry composed by Hirendra Kumar Sarma was released on Saturday at Nandeswar Saikia Sabhaghar, Nalbari. At the beginning of the programme, senior journalist, the Editor in Chief of Axom Time M Mahibar Rahman lighted the ceremonial lamp followed by the inaugural speech of the Chief Editor Amar Nalbari Wahiduj Jaman. He laid stress on the importance of poetry in the development of literature. Bhubaneswar Deka, the renowned poet released the anthology. He, in his speech, said that poetry never dies.
Hirendra Kumar Sarma, the poet of O Mor Rodor Sarai gave the outline and explained the journey behind this book and conveyed his gratitude to Hiramani Devi, the publisher of Sanko Prakash and all who were associated with the work. Renowned speaker, Dr Rajesh Kakati, Poet Giren Gope, Editor of Gajali Shankar Sarma have attended the function as honoured guests and expressed their happiness on this laudable venture to bring out a poetry book at the beginning of a new year. Jesika Raj sang a song and noted story writer Manisha Talukdar recited a poem at the programme.
