Poor drainage triggers artificial flood in Demow after heavy rain

DEMOW: After heavy rain in the last two days, artificial flood has submerged several places in the Demow area. According to sources, artificial flooding was seen in Lachit Nagar, Sukapha Nagar, and several other places. It has been alleged that the flooding was due to the poor drainage system in the area.

Moreover, it is also alleged that the people are constructing their houses without keeping proper places for drainage. The construction company constructing the four-lane road here in Demow has also built a poor quality drain due to which the people of Demow are suffering.

The officials of the Demow Municipal Board visited the artificial flood-affected areas on Friday and took stock of the situation.
