JAMUGURIHAT: Prajanmya Unmesh, a noted socio-cultural organization of Assam, has been doing commendable jobs in many sectors besides culture. The organization felicitated a girl student named Rituparna Nath belonging to a very poor family on Sunday.

Rituparna Nath secured the highest 86.3% marks in Bachelor of Engineering (Jorhat Engineering College) in the electrical department. Good wishes poured in from every corner of Jamugurihat and people hailed her father Montu Kumar Nath, a petty electrician, for his tireless efforts to sustain her education.

Rituparna has expressed desire to continue her higher studies. Members of Prajanmya Unmesh, led by its Chief Executive Arup Saikia, visited her household to felicitate her personally. Arup Saikia is a Bhaona artist of international fame. He told our correspondent that they usually selected some of the meritorious students who were culturally active for cultural shows in India and abroad.

It is noteworthy that Prajanmya Unmesh has been performing Assamese traditional dramas, Bhaonas, in the English language, under the directorship of Arup Saikia. Local citizens have commended the endeavours of social welfare by Prajanmya Unmesh, stated a press release.
