TEZPUR: A preparatory meeting for the upcoming state-level launch of the Intensified IEC (Information, Education & Communication) Campaign 2025, initiated by the Assam State AIDS Control Society ASACS and to be organized in Sonitpur, was held at the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Sonitpur. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Commissioner Ananda Kumar Das and aimed at ensuring meticulous planning and coordination for the successful launch of the campaign scheduled on August 12. The campaign will span 60 days and will focus on enhancing awareness regarding HIV, STI prevention, and related health issues among the youth and the general public.
During the meeting, discussions were held on key components of the campaign including the organization of a befitting launch event with participation from students, including a foot rally and cultural components, featuring messages on HIV and STI awareness. It was informed in the meeting that the official launch event is scheduled to be held at Swahid Smarak Udyan Auditorium in Dhekiajuli with active involvement of district-level officials from various departments. A presentation on the planned campaign activities and strategies was delivered by representatives from ASACS and DISHA. The District Commissioner urged all departments and stakeholders to work in coordination to ensure the impactful and successful implementation of the campaign across the district.
